I got the ram upgraded in my Dell d620 system today:

Cpu0 : 1.7%us, 2.3%sy, 0.0%ni, 0.0%id, 95.3%wa, 0.0%hi, 0.7%si, 0.0%st
Cpu1 : 0.3%us, 6.3%sy, 0.0%ni, 0.0%id, 92.7%wa, 0.0%hi, 0.7%si, 0.0%st
Mem: 3106856k total, 3021508k used, 85348k free, 13216k buffers
Swap: 2441840k total, 0k used, 2441840k free, 2501928k cached

Now I can have a ton of vmware instances open at once. This machine has been absolutely wonderful for Linux / Ubuntu. Dual head 3d desktop: check. Suspend / Hibernate: check. Wireless: check. Docking station: check. Dvd burning: check. Having 2.5G of memory caching data: check check check.
