Fedora supports WiFi; in fact, they sponsor the development of NetworkManager, which Ubuntu will take advantage of in its next release.
Which is your card?

I have a prism54 which requires firmware which fedora can’t distribute.

i have a prism54 based (afaik) usb adapter lying around. what did you do in order to make it work in ubuntu?

The only thing Fedora requires in order to ship firmware is that it’s distributable, so if Ubuntu can do it I don’t see why Fedora couldn’t.
If the drivers are proprietary it’s a different story, of course…
