Henrik has a great post about non-free drivers. Read it.
There is non-free software in the world and we have to live with that fact. The question is not whether we put it on a server or a CD but whether we are trying to push the world in the right direction or not.

for your conclusion :

>fact. The question is not whether we put it on a server or a CD but
>whether we are trying to push the world in the right direction or not.
This is an opened question and there is no answers. What is the right direction? Some people will answer they have to make money with software, some others will say the opposite.
It’s like a way of life, we can’t tell : “This is good and this is bad!” Everybody must be free to think what he thinks to be the best for him. So we can’t push the world and we can only look where he goes.
I think that’s an answer, but please don’t necessarily agree with me, but have a critical point of view on the question.
