Ubuntu-Chicago went great this week, and we all had a blast. Still, there was one thing left unresolved, which I will address with a gimp image:
For all those people who run gnome, are really smart, and got left out, I apologize in advance. Also you can click the image to see it in a larger version!
Update: This is just a very light-hearted joke just because we go back and forth with “oh that would work if it was in KDE” etc. I am desktop environment neutral and infact maintain a 1400 system install of KDE, and it works great

Yea real mature there bud. Great way to bring the Kubuntu/Ubuntu/Xubuntu/Edubuntu community togather.
Last I checked the Kubuntu Team has some really smart developers and users.
Annoyed,
Brandon

@brandon: I wouldn’t take too much offence, its more tongue in cheek than a flame bait.
Excellent gimp skillz though
A really smart Kubuntu user,

yeah that middle guy is the worst. I wish there was a way to subscribe to the Ubuntu Planet feed but exclude his boring blog.

Hey you left Linus Torvalds off the dumb list! Major oversight there \satire

I loved it!
Thanks Ben for at least recognizing my “boring” blog. There are aggregators out there, that will filter, so you could add my blog to the filter so you didn’t have to read it. I will admit that it is rather boring, as I tend to have meaningless conversations with myself.
I was thinking of a comeback sharms, but I think my “Doctor Shoals” post back when the GNOME feet made their way onto the planet was payback enough. Otherwise, we just might get people upset and make them cry by having fun. It seems that a sense of humor around here is as buggy as Windows ME.

Isn’t Mark supposed to use both? Maybe he just likes being claimed by both
FwIW I don’t think Rich’s blog is *that* boring compared to, say, some of the ones I read on Live Journal..
Oh and you forgot xfce!

Thank you for including me in your list of smart people who use GNOME, despite my obvious shortcomings in the cranial fulfillment department.
I actually didn’t have much to say apart from congratulating you on the title of this post.

Also, Brandon needs to find his funny bone. I extend an offer to hit his elbow until he finds it.

I think those “really smart people” should be able to come up with clever jokes, implying that non-Gnome users are not as smart is just lame. In my twisted perceptions such ‘jokes’ only tell me that Gnome users are arrogant.

/me falls down laughing as jdub hits my elbow funny bone
( on a side note: sorry it hit me wrong as that was the day ( yesterday ) i got my divorce papers so I was a little pesimestic, my fault, its all in fun )
… but you did forget to add Linus to the KDE user circle

Caroline, Xfce, Enlightenment, Fluxbox (right imbrandon?), but most importantly, and I have at least imbrandon backing me up…
KDE!!!
Jdub, I find kicking people in the shin usually wakes them up, and if they don’t laugh, at least they look funny trying to figure why in the hell you just kicked them.
So if 2+2=5 makes you smart, rock on GNOMErs! (boooooyah!)
p.s. my blog is boring for real, it is nothing but my online mirror, if I didn’t have it, I would sit here and talk to myself..well I always talk to myself, but I would do it even more

Look, a fanboy!
))
No, really, two things:
- Even if it’s fun for many people (at least, I as a smart KDE user don’t feel offended) there are still people who don’t like to see their favorite DE being put down this way. I’m a KDE fan and like it much more than GNOME, but nowadays we should really try not to stress the “my DE is better than yours” factor, especially not in a blog this public, even if it’s meant as good humor. Simply the fact that you’re motivated enough to take your time drawing something like this is proof enough for me that a lot of the DE fight mentality is still out there, and should be reduced much more.
- haha, you took the old crappy KDE logo instead of the nice new one!
